The proposal is to mine high-grade detrital iron ore from Hamersley Iron's leases on Mt Brockman station. The Environmental Protection Authority has completed its assessment of the application to amend the Environmental Protection (Western Power Transmission Substation Noise Emissions) Approval 2005 made by Western Power to the Minister for Environment on 21 September 2011. The proposal is to construct a sub sea pipeline, onshore gas treatment and compression plant, and sales gas pipeline. The subsea pipeline from the Macedon Gas Field (100 kilometres west of Onslow) connects to the onshore gas treatment and compression plant at Ashburton North (15 kilometres southwest of Onslow).
