Brikmakers Pty Ltd proposes to extract clay from Lot 7 Toy Rd Bindoon, within the Shire of Chittering. Approximately 15 hectares (ha) of predominately pasture land will be disturbed for the construction of two clay excavation pits, a stockpile area, two dams, and bunds. The proposal is to recommence quarrying at Pivot Hill (M80/618(P) & L80/63(P)). It involves the extraction of up to 45,000 tonnes per year of basalt for use as aggregates in civil works. B & J Catalano propose to develop a granite quarry on Lot 501 Coalfields Road, Wellington, in the Shire of Harvey. The area of disturbance is up to 10 hectares. It is proposed to extract 50,000 to 100,000 tonnes of hard rock per year. The expected life of the operations is 20 years. The proposed excavation area is located wholly within Myalup State Forest which is vested in the Conservation Commission of Western Australia and managed by the Department of Parks and Wildlife. Onslow Resources Ltd proposes to mine up to 2.3 million tonnes of river sand and shingle in the Ashburton riverbed within the Minderoo Pastoral Lease. Mining will only take place when the river is dry and production will be limited by the rate that material is able to be replenished by flow events. Mining will be confined to replenishable material.
