Project Proponent B & J Catalano Proposal description B & J Catalano propose to develop a granite quarry on Lot 501 Coalfields Road, Wellington, in the Shire of Harvey. The area of disturbance is up to 10 hectares. It is proposed to extract 50,000 to 100,000 tonnes of hard rock per year. The expected life of the operations is 20 years. Rock will be extracted by drill and blast and removal by excavator before being trucked off site. It is anticipated that blasting will occur four times per year. The site is largely cleared. The nearest residence is approximately 2600 metres (m) away from the processing area (crushing and screening) and the proposed excavation area.
