Allawuna Class 3 Landfill Facility

The EPA has received a third party referral for the development and operation of a Class II or III Putrescible Landfill on a property known as Allawuna, within the Shire of York. The proponent has advised the EPA that only Class II waste will be accepted. The proposal is located on Lots 9926, 26934, 4869 and 5831 Great Southern Highway, Saint Ronans. The proposal has a nominal life expectancy of 37 years and will accept between 150,000 and 250,000 tonnes of waste each year. Read more...

Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers Limited  proposes  to construct and operate a methanol plant with a production capacity of approximately 5,000 tonnes per day ( tpd ) on Site E within the Burrup Strategic Industrial Area (SIA) on the Burrup Peninsula.     The proposal is adjacent to the  Murujuga  National Park.      The proposal would  result in the  disturbance of  approximately  75 hectares within Site E.     Read more...

City of Busselton proposes to construct a new route into Busselton. The proposal involves the development of a new two-lane road and bridge linking Causeway Road to Cammilleri Street, including a new bridge over the Vasse river. Expansion of Plantrite Nursery

Plantrite Nursery has applied to the City of Swan for retrospective planning approval for the expansion of its existing 5 hectare (ha) native plant nursery on Lot 88 Bingham Road Bullsbrook (Lot 88). This expansion is proposed to be completed over two stages totalling 10.67 ha; Stage 1 covering 4.76 ha and Stage 2 covering 5.91 ha. The proposal is to recommence quarrying at Pivot Hill (M80/618(P) & L80/63(P)). It involves the extraction of up to 45,000 tonnes per year of basalt for use as aggregates in civil works. This would require 4.4 hectares (ha) of clearing of native vegetation in addition to the existing 2.45 hectares of previously disturbed land, within a Mining Lease covering 45 ha.
