Rare Earth Treatment Plant

The proposal is to establish a Rare Earth Treatment Plant at Pinjarra in Western Australia. The proposal has two stages. The first stage would treat the monazite with caustic to produce a solid containing rare earth hydroxides and a calcium phosphate waste. The West Australian woodchip industry

The proposal is to produce 750,000 tonnes of woodchips per year for 15 years in the South West of the State from five sources: Low-grade logs from State Forest Regrowth thinnings in State Forest Saw mill residues Plantations on private property Native vegetation on private property The majority of the resource comes from State Forest managed by the Department of Conservation and Land Management. Proposed ammonia - urea plant, Kwinana

Last updated: August 2, 1988

The proposal is to establish a $450 million ammonia/urea facility in the Kwinana industrial area which will produce 500 000 tonnes per annum (t/a) of ammonia . Approximately half of this ammonia is proposed to be utilised to manufacture 430 000 t/a of urea. The proposal calls for the storage of 30 000 tonnes of ammonia. Proposed ceramics plant, Malaga

The proposal is for a ceramics plant at Malaga, approximately 12 km north of Perth. The proposal involves using up to 7000 tonnes/annum of clay, schist, talc, feldspar and quartz for the production of assay crucibles, cups, and possibly tableware. Kalgoorlie tailings retreatment project

The proposal is to develop a project which would reprocess old gold tailing dumps located in the Golden Mile, Kalgoorlie. Anglo American Pacific Limited plans to treat 32.5 million tonnes which may increase to 57 million tonnes if additional dumps are incorporated. The proposal is to establish a new iron ore mining project at Yandicoogina (Marillana) in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The proposal generally involves the mining of iron ore deposits at an initial production rate of about 2 million tonnes per year, with the potential to increase production to a rate of up to 5 million tonnes per year during a projected 20 year mine life. Satellite Gold Roaster, near Kalgoorlie

The proposal is to construct and operate a new concentrate roasting facility 17 km north north-west of the Kalgoorlie Town Centre. The proposed roaster would be required to treat approximately 190 000 tonnes per annum of concentrate. This would result in the production of 16 000 kg/hr of sulphur dioxide. McCamey's Monster iron ore proposal

The proposal is to mine high grade iron ore from a scree and erosion fan located south of McCamey's Monster Hill. Point Grey Project

The proposal is for a development scheme for Point Grey, near Mandurah. This proposal includes: a college and associated residential campus; an 18 hole golf course; tourist and holiday accommodation sites; 3,200 single residential lots; 300 'rural residential lots'; and shopping, education and community infrastructure. Hedges gold project, Boddington

The proposal is to establish a gold mining operation of up to 2 million tonnes per annum with a project life of 4-5 years.
