Mid West Iron and Steel Project - Geraldton Steel Plant, Oakajee, Shire of Chapman Valley

Boddington gold mine - Extended basement operation and changes to existing environmental conditions

The initial proposal by Worsley to develop the Boddington Gold Mine approximately 12km north-west of the town of Boddington was the subject of an EPA evaluation in 1985 (EPA 1985). The proposal is to to expand NufarmCoogee Pty Ltd's Chlor-alkali Plant at Kwinana to allow an increase in chlorine gas production to 42,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) through the installation of a new electrolysis processing circuit. The proposal is to construct and operate a Direct Reduction/Hot Briquetted Iron plant near Cape Lambert in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The proposal is to place contaminated materials into an enlarged portion of an engineered containment cell located onsite at McCabe Street in Mosman Park. The proponent wishes to increase the size of the containment cell and to amend the environmental conditions of Ministerial Statement 338 relating to removal of drainage outfalls at the site. Bunbury to Augusta Road - Busselton Bypass

Proposed bypass of Greater Eastern Highway at Northam

The Great Eastern Highway presently runs through the Town of Northam.This current alignment has inherent problems for local traffic in terms of congestion and the frequency of accidents. Further problems include noise and visual pollution caused by traffic, particularly heavy vehicles. To alleviate these problems, three different alignments around the town have been put forward by Main Roads Western Australia for environmental impact assessment. Read more...
