The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale proposes to extract gravel from a twelve hectare area known as the Scrivener Road Gravel Reserves. The reserves are located at the top of the scarp south of Serpentine and contain nesting habitat for all three protected black cockatoo species. Brikmakers (BGC Australia Pty Ltd) propose to extract clay and sand at Lots 5 and 6 (1728) Great Northern Highway, Bullsbrook. The site was historically used for the grazing of cattle.
