The Water Authority of Western Australia has proposed that all municipal wastewater from Albany undergo secondary treatment at the Timewell Road (No. 2) plant prior to being piped and irrigated onto trees and pasture at a land disposal site on the outskirts of Albany. This proposal constitutes part of a long-term plan to rehabilitate the eutrophic Princess Royal Harbour and would result in the removal of the Point King sewage outfall (a significant source of nutrients to the harbour). The proposal is to increase production capacity by constructing a levee across Useless Inlet near the northern limit of the mining lease which is about 7 km from Clough's Bar. The State Energy Commission have agreed to a request by the Department of Planning and Urban Development to change the proposed route of the Harvey - Kvvinana 330kV transmission line at Mandogalup (near Kwinana).
