An alignment for the Perth-Darwin National Highway from Reid Highway to Muchea and a future public transport corridor have been included by the State Planning Commission in a major amendment to the Metropolitan Region Scheme for the North East Metropolitan Corridor (Amendment No. 950/33). Eastern Corridor Major Roads Study (s46)

Since the original environmental statement was published ( Ministerial Statement 84 ), a detailed review of the whole route between middle Swan and the Metropolitan Region Scheme boundary at Wooroloo has been completed. As a result of these studies, Main Roads consider that some sections of the original route need to be changed. Proposed bypass of Greater Eastern Highway at Northam

The Great Eastern Highway presently runs through the Town of Northam.This current alignment has inherent problems for local traffic in terms of congestion and the frequency of accidents. Further problems include noise and visual pollution caused by traffic, particularly heavy vehicles. Yandicoogina (Marillana) iron ore project - change of environmental conditions due to increase in rate of production (s46) [875]

BHP Iron Ore has submitted a further proposal to increase the rate of production from 10 MTPA to 15 MTPA. This increase would require the following modifications to the present operation, approved under Ministerial Statement 29 as amended by Ministerial Statement 259 : minor modifications to the existing processing plant to increase its capacity to 11 MTPA; the construction of additional processing facilities, as required, to increase capacity to 15MTPA; a gradual increase in mobile mining... Proposed 132kv transmission line, Manjimup to Beenup Mineral Sands Mine

In 1991, the State Energy Commission of Western Australia presented the Environmental Protection Authority with a number of alternatives for supplying power to the proposed Beenup mineral sands mine. Water catchment and dam development, Mt Hampton, South of Southern Cross

This proposal by the Water Authority of Western Australia is to harvest and store water from a large, high granite outcrop known as Mt Hampton. Mt Hampton is located in a reserve for the purpose of "Water and Conservation of Flora and Fauna" about 60 km south-west of Southern Cross.
