The proposal involves the excavation and processing of a low-grade (2.7%) heavy mineral sands deposit near Keysbrook to produce 920,000 tonnes of Heavy Mineral Concentrate (HMC) over 8 years. An area of 30 hectares (ha) would be progressively mined at any time. Topsoil would be removed and stockpiled for use in rehabilitation.
