Market Garden, Lot 5 Yangetti Road, Keysbrook

The proposal is to recommence market garden operations and to irrigate up to 52 hectares for approximately eight months of the year. Ampol Ltd has also agreed to rationalise its operations and participate in the new development. Premier coal mine expansion, Collie

The proposal is to develop an open cut coal mine at the Premier deposit in the Shotts Sub-Basin of the Collie Coal Basin. The Premier area is about 10 kilometres east of Collie and consists mainly of State Forest managed by the Department of Conservation and Land Management. Beenup power supply

The proposal is to construct and operate a 132 kilovolt (kV) transmission line between either the Picton or Manjimup substations and Mineral Deposits Limited proposed mineral sands mine at Beenup. Rural residential development, Peel-Harvey - position statement and proposals

The Peel-Harvey estuarine system is badly degraded. The system shows signs of severe eutrophication (nutrient enrichment), which results in excessive algal growth. The algae live on the nutrients, and multiply rapidly, stifling life in the Estuary in warmer weather. The algae accumulate on the shores of the Estuary and rot, causing odour problems, polluting the shore, and killing wildlife and fish. Extension, cleanup and rehabilitation of mineral sands mine, Wonnerup

The proposal is to continue current mining of the orebody at Wonnerup, south of the mouth of the Wonnerup Inlet. The orebody contains heavy mineral sands and tailings remaining from mining done by another company in the 1960s. The proposal is for the mining and processing of approximately 12 million tonnes of alluvial gravels extending for a distance of 2.5km downstream beyond current mining operations in Smoke Creek. The company proposes to begin mining later in 1991 and the programme is expected to take five years to complete.
