The Western Australian Planning Commission proposes to introduce an improvement
scheme over the West End of Port Hedland between The Esplanade and Taplin Street. The
scheme will apply greater planning controls in response to the Port Hedland Dust
Management Task Force Report, 2016.

The purpose of Amendment No. 88 is to rezone Lot 7, 106 Guildford Road, Maylands from 'Service Station' to 'Medium and High Density Residential' with the R50 density code, amend Schedule 10 to introduce a new Special Control Area (SCA) and associated development provisions covering Lot 7, 106 Guildford Road, Lot 8, 4 and Lot 5, 6 Third Avenue East, Maylands and amend the Scheme Map accordingly.
The purpose of this amendment, to rezone the abovementioned land (amendment area) to “Special Use”zone, is to facilitate redevelopment for the RSLWA on the basis that future development aligns with thescheme objectives of this zone. The “Special Use” zone is intended to set the parameters of land use and builtform which will facilitate further design investigations as part of a future Development Application.
Amendment 110 proposes to extend the lifespan of Development Contribution Area No.3.
The City of Kwinana proposes to introduce the land use 'Home Business' into its scheme
zoning table and remove all requirements within the scheme for Home Occupation applications to be renewed annually.
Amendment 183 proposes to:
• Rezone approximately 6.5 ha of Lot 33 Padbury Avenue, Millendon and a portion of the Padbury Avenue road reserve, to 'Swan Valley Rural';
• Rezone approximately 1.5 ha of Lot 9332 Hammersley Road, Caversham (formerly Riverbank Detention facility) to 'Swan Valley Rural; and
• Amend the Scheme Maps accordingly.
Amendment 184 proposes to:
- Rezone an approximately 3.29 ha of Lot 102 Harrow Street, West Swan to 'Swan Valley Rural' and make 'Educational Establishment' an Additional Use. This involves approximately 3.29 ha (94%) of the total 3.49 ha lot area;
- Apply a 'Local Road' reserve to the approximately 0.09 ha of land required to deliver the future Henley Brook Avenue and its 4-way intersection with Harrow Street; and
- Amend the Scheme Maps accordingly.
