The amendment proposes to introduce scheme text at Clause 4.3.3 to provide for
discretionary approval of residential land uses within the ‘Commercial’ zone, at a
density coding of R35.
The amendment proposes to modify the land use permissibility for a ‘Grouped Dwelling’ within the ‘Rural’ zone from a not-permitted (‘X’) use to a discretionary (‘D’) use. The amendment is to provide for additional residential accommodation on agricultural properties within the Shire.

The amendment proposes to rezone various lots within the townsite of Pingelly to reflect current and/or predominant use of the site and for the consolidation of the townsite.

The purpose of the amendment is to reclassify the former Challenger Tafe in Beaconsfield from a ‘Public Purposes – Technical School’ reservation zone to a ‘Urban’ zone under the Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS) to facilitate future residential and mixed-use development. The site has been historically cleared, with the former building having since been demolished.
