The Tims Thicket Waste Management Facility is located approximately 15 km south of Mandurah. The Site covers an area of 28 hectares. The Site has been in operation since 1995.
The proposal seeks to recommence acceptance of liquid waste at the facility by implementing a suite of improvements, including refurbishing and repurposing the existing infrastructure. The proposed design capacity is up to 6500 kL of liquid waste per year, consisting of septage and grease trap waste.
s43A Change to Proposal
The City of Mandurah are proposing to change its proposal under s43A of the Environmental Protection Act 1986. The proposal would no longer include an irrigation field and instead will be replaced with an evaporation pond. The proposal would also include new double lined anaerobic ponds with leak detection and a green waste transfer station.
