Project Haber Pty Ltd proposes to construct and operate a 1.4 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) urea plant in East Arrowsmith (South Erregulla). The proposal is located approximately 280 km north of Perth and 45 km south east of Dongara, in the Shire of Three Springs.
The urea plant comprises of an Air Separation Unit (ASU) producing nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen for various processes; an ammonia synthesis unit; and a granulation and urea production unit.
Supporting infrastructure includes gas treatment facilities; gas fired power and steam generation, heat recovery steam generation and emergency diesel generator; urea storage and loading facilities; utilities, including potable water storage and treatment; wastewater treatment; cooling water systems; 10 MW electrolyser to produce green hydrogen and an accommodation camp.
The proposed development envelope is approximately 478 hectares (ha), which includes 323.6 ha of disturbance for the proposed urea plant, including the clearing of up to 1 ha of native vegetation.
The Proposal has associated GHG Emissions of 761 thousand tonnes per annum CO2 equivalent (ktpa CO2-e) emissions (Scope 1) released to the atmosphere as a direct result of the Proposal.
The proposal does not include gas supply infrastructure, water abstraction and water supply infrastructure, road transport of urea, and storage and shipping of urea.
