Proposal description

Proposal to develop a land-based marine shell breeding facility and residence on Downes Island approximately seven kilometres west of Port Hedland. Trochus shells (Trochus niloticu), Pearl oysters (Pteria penguin, Pinctada margaritifera, P. albina) and a range of other native Australian shells will be bred at the facility. Trochus and pearl oysters will be grown-out off-site.
