Land Use Changes Affecting Kwinana Environmental Protection Policy Buffer - MRS Amendment No. 939/33 A

In November 1993 the State Planning Commission advised the Environmental Protection Authority of the proposed Metropolitan Region Scheme Amendment No 939/33A to rezone land bounded by Beeliar Drive, Stock Road, Frobisher Avenue and Fawcett Road, Munster in the City of Cockburn. Transport of sodium cyanide solution from CSBP, Kwinana (s46)

In 1987 the EPA assessed a proposal by Australian Gold Reagents Pty Ltd (AGR) to construct and operate a sodium cyanide plant in Kwinana and to transport the product (30% sodium cyanide solution) by road to mine sites for gold extraction. The EPA recommended that road transportation of sodium cyanide solution was unacceptable within a "defined area of concern", which is 50km of the Perth GPO and designated surface and groundwater catchment areas. Beenyup ocean outfall duplication (s46)

In 1989 the Water Authority of Western Australia referred to the Environmental Protection Authority a proposal to build a second ocean outfall from the Beenyup Wastewater Treatment Plant into Marmion Marine Park. Some conditions which related solely to the pre-construction and construction phases have now been satisfactorily completed and formally cleared. They are no longer necessary and can now be deleted. Land use strategy for Bold Park and environs

The outcome of this assessment affirms the position adopted by the Environmental Protection Authority's 1983 System Six report in recommending that the bushland areas known as the Swanbourne Beach and Rifle Range (M46) and Bold Park (M47) should form a Regional Park for their conservation, recreation and educational values and their proximity to Perth. Southern River Bridge link between Spencer Road and Corfield Street

The proposal involves the extension of Corfield Street from its present junction with Prince Street, across the Southern River, to connect with Spencer Road adjacent to the junction with Warton Road/Burslem Drive. The link would be constructed to a four laned divided carriageway standard. Baldivis Tailings Pond Rehabilitation Project and Effluent Management System Upgrade (s46)

Inquiry under s46 regarding changing the implementation conditions of Ministerial Statement 144 . It is proposed that the refinery effluent, tailings pond liquor and recovered groundwater will be blended in the lined staging pond at Baldivis prior to feeding to the CMF plant. The filtrate from the CMF plant will be returned to the refinery site and treated in the existing reverse osmosis circuit. Reid Highway Stage 3 - Beechboro Road to Great Northern Highway

Reid Highway is identified on the Metropolitan Region Scheme as a 'Controlled Access Highway'. When completed, Reid Highway would connect the Mitchell Freeway and Marmion Avenue in the west with Roe Highway just north of Midland. This proposal is for the 8.3km section of Reid Highway between Beechboro Road and the Great Northern Highway/Roe Highway intersection, which would complete the link between Mitchell Freeway and Roe Highway.
