The proposal is to develop a nature-based campground within Lots 62 and Lot 303 Dirk Hartog Island. The proposal would include up to 23 bare earth campsites, and 3 camp-kitchen/ablution blocks to facilitate up to 80 people in camping accommodation, and the construction of vehicle access roads and firebreaks, as well as other associated infrastructure. The proposal is to construct and operate the SKA-1 Low Frequency Aperture Array. The SKA -1 Low Frequency Aperture Array would be constructed at the SKA Telescope on Boolardy Station approximately 315 km north-east of Geraldton. The Beresford foreshore, Geraldton is an important link between the amenity precincts of Batavia Coast Marina and Bluff Point. The Geraldton Foreshore Redevelopment is proposed by the Department of Marine and Harbours, Western Australia (referred to here as the proponent) in association with the Town (now City) of Geraldton, Westrail, and the Geraldton Mid-West Development Authority, to redevelop a seafront site of approximately 17 ha in the Geraldton townsite presently used by Westrail as a railway marshalling yard, into a recreation and tourist facility and small boat harbour.
