Fortescue Metals Group Ltd proposes to develop the Eliwana Mine Project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The proposal involves the excavation and processing of a low-grade (2.7%) heavy mineral sands deposit near Keysbrook to produce 920,000 tonnes of Heavy Mineral Concentrate (HMC) over 8 years. Worsley Alumina Pty Ltd (Worsley) proposes to upgrade the Worsley refinery in order to increase production to 4.4 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa).
