The Shire of Busselton proposes to build a regional aerodrome to cater for the requirements of the Royal Flying Doctor Service and for local aviation operators, as well as to provide a focus for anticipated growth in tourism serviced by air transport throughout the South West Region of Western Australia. The proposal is for a bypass road around the urban areas of Busselton. In 1989 the Water Authority of Western Australia referred to the Environmental Protection Authority a proposal to build a second ocean outfall from the Beenyup Wastewater Treatment Plant into Marmion Marine Park. Some conditions which related solely to the pre-construction and construction phases have now been satisfactorily completed and formally cleared. They are no longer necessary and can now be deleted. The proposal involves the extension of Corfield Street from its present junction with Prince Street, across the Southern River, to connect with Spencer Road adjacent to the junction with Warton Road/Burslem Drive. The link would be constructed to a four laned divided carriageway standard. Reid Highway is identified on the Metropolitan Region Scheme as a 'Controlled Access Highway'. When completed, Reid Highway would connect the Mitchell Freeway and Marmion Avenue in the west with Roe Highway just north of Midland. This proposal is for the 8.3km section of Reid Highway between Beechboro Road and the Great Northern Highway/Roe Highway intersection, which would complete the link between Mitchell Freeway and Roe Highway.
