Austeel Pty Ltd proposes to mine iron ore from the George Palmer Orebody on a pastoral lease about 25km south of Cape Preston. Ore will be fed to a purpose-built process plant to produce up to 13.8 million tonnes per annum of pellet iron and 4.7 million tonnes per annum of direct reduced iron (DRI) and/or hot briquetted iron (HBI). Hamersley Agriculture Project

The West Pilbara Iron Ore Project Stage 1 – Mine and Rail proposal is to develop and operate eight iron ore deposits 35 to 85 km south of Pannawonica and a heavy-haulage railway that connects the mine area to the Anketell Point Port precinct. Hope Downs Iron Ore Mine, 75 Km North-West of Newman Pilbara Region - Baby Hope Proposal

The proposal is to develop and operate the Baby Hope iron ore deposit, located 75 km north-west of Newman in the Pilbara region of WA. The Baby Hope proposal includes above water table open pits, waste rock dumps and supporting transport infrastructure. Clearing of up to 1,000 ha within the existing Hope Downs 1 development envelope would be required for the proposal. Jimblebar Iron Ore Project

The proposal is to extend the existing Wheelarra Hill open pits, develop the South Jimblebar and Hashimoto deposits, and to increase the ore processing capacity by 30 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to 75 mtpa. West Angelas - Revised Proposal (Deposit A West and Deposit F)

Robe River Mining Co. Pty Ltd proposes to revise the West Angelas Iron Ore Mine to include mining above and below the water table of Deposit A west and Deposit F, as satellite deposits to the existing operation. The project is located 130 kilometres northwest of Newman in the Pilbara. The proposal includes additional clearing up to 3,223 hectares (ha), an extension of the development envelope of up to 2,750 ha and an increase in abstraction of groundwater of up to 1 gigalitre per annum. Ammonia Plant, Burrup Peninsula

The proposal is to construct and operate an ammonia plant on the Burrup Peninsula, approximately 1300 kilometres north of Perth. The selected project site is located in the King Bay-Hearson Cove Industrial Area and is approximately 6 and 10 kilometres from the towns of Dampier and Karratha respectively. The site covers an area of about 72 hectares and the actual plant footprint and infrastructure (including a thermal desalination plant) will occupy an area of approximately 20 hectares. Read more...
