Cooljarloo Mine – Falcon Extension

The extension of open pit mining of mineral sands by dredging and dry mining adjacent to existing operations. Existing dry mining and processing practices, plant and equipment will be used. Approximately 3.1 million tonnes of ore will be extracted, slurried and processed by the dry mine concentrator to extract heavy mineral concentrate for transporting to the Chandala facilities. Cloverdale Mineral Sands

The Cloverdale Mineral Sands proposal, located approximately 190km south of Perth in the Shires of Busselton and Capel, consists of two strands of heavy mineral deposits, 4.5km long. The proposal involves the progressive mining of approximately 3.5 million tonnes of resource, with an average grade of 18% heavy mineral concentrate (HMC), over the two-year life of the mine. Heavy Minerals Mine at Jangardup (s46)

The approved proposal is to mine and process an average of 271,000 tonnes of heavy mineral concentrate per year. The concentrate is then trucked from the mine to Bunbury via Black Point Road, Stewart Road and the Vasse and Bussell Highways. Extension, cleanup and rehabilitation of mineral sands mine, Wonnerup

The proposal is to continue current mining of the orebody at Wonnerup, south of the mouth of the Wonnerup Inlet. The orebody contains heavy mineral sands and tailings remaining from mining done by another company in the 1960s. Exploration programme in the D'Entrecasteaux National Park

The proposal is for an exploration programme to explore for mineral sands and to compile geo-scientific data using geophysical, geological and drilling techniques at locations throughout the length and breadth of the D'Entrecasteaux National Park. The area has been explored from the air using remote sensing geophysical techniques, such as airborne magnetometer surveys, and a number of magnetic anomalies, which may represent mineral sands deposits, have been identified. Heavy minerals mine - Beenup

The proposal is to mine about 50ha of farmland per year, by dredging, to produce 500,000 tonnes of heavy minerals annually, for at least 20 years. The dredge would float on the natural watertable surface and reach to the bottom of the deposit without the need to raise or lower the water table. Heavy Minerals Mine at Jangardup

The proposal is to extract about 3.7 million tonnes of ore from about 30 hectares of land at Jangardup each year, to produce 271,000 tonnes of heavy mineral concentrate for trucking to Bunbury annually. The proposed mine life is eight years. Mining would be by a floating dredge feeding a wet separator. Proposed Synthetic Rutile Plant Expansion, Narngulu Industrial Estate, Geraldton

AMC Mineral Sands Ltd, the mineral sands division of Renison Goldfields Consolidated Limited, proposes to expand its synthetic rutile plant on the Narngulu Industrial Estate located 11 km south-east of Geraldton. After expansion, the synthetic rutile plant will occupy some 47 hectares of the 465 hectare Estate. The expansion will increase synthetic rutile production from 112,500 to 260,000 tonnes per annum. The proposal is to extend AMC Mineral Sands' existing heavy mineral sand mining operation. The proposed extension is 5 km west of the existing operation at Eneabba, which lies 250 km north of Perth. Mineral sands dry processing plant, Muchea

In November 1987 the TiO 2 Corporation submitted to the Environmental Protection Authority an ERMP describing a proposal which included the establishment of a mineral sands dry separation plant at a site just north of Muchea on the Brand Highway.
