Amendment 1447 proposes to rezone from ‘Industrial’ zone to ‘Urban’ zone in the Metropolitan Region Scheme.
Amendment 1445 proposes to rezone the land from ‘Rural’ to ‘Urban’ under the Metropolitan Region Scheme.
Amendment 1444 proposes to rezone and reclassify Lots 1 and 2 Helena Valley Road in Helena Valley from ‘Rural’ zone to ‘Urban’ zone and ‘Regional Open Space’ (ROS) reserve in the Metropolitan Region Scheme.
The amendment proposes to include ‘Telecommunications infrastructure’ as a specific land use category and make this a permitted ‘P’ use in all industrial zones and discretionary ‘D’ use in all other zones, to ensure the planning scheme is consistent with State Planning Policy (SPP) 5.2 - Telecommunications Infrastructure.
Amendment 2 proposes to transfer land in Roelands from ‘Priority Agriculture’, ‘Rural’ and ‘Local Road’ to ‘Rural Residential’ and ‘Public Open Space (POS)’. The permitted Lot sizes within the ‘Rural Residential’ zone are 1 to 4 ha. The amendment relates to Stage 1 of the Treendale Structure Plan Policy Area 3B that was approved by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) on 6 April 2023, prior to the initiation of this amendment.
The amendment proposes to rezone a portion of Lot 21 (No.19) Mather Road, Lake Grace, from ‘General Agriculture’ to ‘General Industry’ zone and amend the Scheme map accordingly.
The amendment proposes to transfer approximately 53.6 ha of land from the ‘Rural – Water Protection’ zone to the ‘Urban’ zone, and 3.8 ha of from Rural to ‘Regional Open Space’ and ‘Water Catchments’ reserve.
To rezone approximately 123.5 hectares of land in Wattle Grove from the Rural zone to the Urban zone
The amendment proposes several changes, including to rezone various lots within Forrestdale Townsite East Urban Precinct (the precinct) from ‘Rural Living 2’ to ‘Urban Development’, amend ‘Schedule 8’ to give effect to ‘Development Area No. 73’ (DA 73), amend ‘Special Control Area Map 1’ by deleting ‘Sewerage Treatment Plant’ on Lots 510 and 5060 Waterworks Road, Haynes, and amend ‘Special Control Area Map 3’ by inserting ‘DA 73’.
The EPA acknowledges that an area of ‘Public Purposes – Drainage’ reservation within the precinct is proposed to be transferred to the ‘Urban Development’ zone as part of the final adoption of the amendment.
Amendment 60 is an omnibus amendment that proposes numerous modifications to the scheme as an interim step to the preparation of a new local planning scheme. The amendment proposes to: introduce rezoning and scheme map modifications; introduce new land use permissibilities (including Service Stations and Renewable Energy Facility); introduce new development provisions; ensure consistency with the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 and the addition of supplemental provisions; and amend minor errors and omissions in the Scheme text and maps. The amendment includes transfer of part of the Murujuga National Park on the Burrup Peninsula (the Peninsula) and parts of the Dampier Archipelago Islands (the Islands) from ‘Public purposes – Telecommunications’ reserve, ‘Strategic Industry’, ‘Infrastructure’ and ‘No Zone’ to ‘Conservation, Recreation and Natural Landscapes’.
