Local Planning Scheme (LPS) 8 represents an update to the Shire of Ashburton’s (the Shire) existing LPS 7, to ensure consistency with the requirements of the Model Provisions at Schedule 1 of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015, the Shire’s Local Planning Strategy, and relevant state planning legislation and policies.
Amendment 1 has been prepared to facilitate the implementation of new precinct structure plans (which are proposed to be concurrently advertised with the amendment) for: Chinatown/Old Broome and Cable Beach. The amendment proposes scheme text changes (including introduction of structure plan requirements and modifications to definitions in the scheme) and also proposes land use zoning and R-code changes within the Chinatown/Old Broome structure plan area.
The Shire of Derby West Kimberley proposes to replace its existing planning schemes with LPS 9, which is consistent with updates to the Planning and Development (Local Planning Scheme) Regulations 2015 and aligns with the Shire of Derby West Kimberley Local Planning Strategy.
The Shire of Harvey has initiated LPS 2 to replace the existing District Planning Scheme 1.
The Shire of Broome proposes to replace its existing planning scheme with an updated scheme which is in line with the Planning and Development (Local Planning Scheme) Regulations 2015. This includes updating Table 3 Zoning Table to include new use classes including ‘Waste disposal facility’ and ‘Waste storage facility’.
LPS 2 is proposed to replace the existing Local Planning Scheme 1. The changes are predominantly to update the Scheme to align with the Planning and Development Regulations 2015 and to reflect existing land use. The new scheme proposes a number of changes including new zones, rezoning’s, text updates, scheme provision amendments, additional uses to reflect actual land uses and the introduction of several Special Control Areas.
Local Planning Scheme 8 is proposed to replace the existing Town Planning Scheme 7. The changes are predominantly to update the Scheme to align with the Planning and Development Regulations 2015, ensure consistency with the Greater Bunbury Region Scheme and to reflect existing land use. The new scheme proposes a number of changes including new zones, rezonings, text updates, scheme provision amendments, additional uses to reflect actual land uses and the introduction of several Special Control Areas.

The City of Busselton has initiated Amendment 28 (Omnibus) to Local Planning Scheme No. 21 to
• align with the Planning and Development (Local Planning Scheme) Regulations
2015
• apply zoning and reserve designations that align with the existing development
tenure of landholdings within the City of Busselton
• allow new development in specified areas as a result of the Scheme
