The Western Australian Land Authority (DevelopmentWA) proposes to amend the Hope Valley-Wattleup Redevelopment Project Master Plan to create new precincts, a new development area and development contribution area to align with the Development Area 5 Structure Plan
Amendment 1397/57 proposes to reclassify approximately 19.8 hectares of land along the Mangles Bay foreshore from the ‘Port Installations’ reserve to the ‘Public Purposes- Commonwealth Government’ and ‘Parks and Recreation’ reserves under the MRS.
Amendment 6 proposes to insert the new definition ‘Major Event’ temporarily (two weeks either side of the Solar Eclipse event) into both section 2.3 'Additional uses in Local Reserves' (AR1) and into Schedule 2 – ‘Additional Uses (A9)’.
The Shire of Exmouth has initiated Amendment 7, ‘Additional Use (A10)’, to provide temporary options in and around the Exmouth townsite to cater for and facilitate the Total Solar Eclipse event in April 2023. The temporary use is proposed for four weeks between 6 April 2023 and 4 May 2023. The ‘Additional Use’ proposes to temporally allow holiday house, holiday accommodation, camping ground, caravan park and car park uses as discretionary in the areas mentioned above and conditions to manage development impacts.

The City of Karratha proposes to introduce Special Control Area and Special Use zones in relation to the Cossack townsite to allow the consideration of low impact tourism development.

The EPA will provide strategic advice to the Minister for Environment on the potential cumulative impacts of the activities and developments proposed for Exmouth Gulf. The assessment periods for Subsea 7‘s Learmonth Pipeline Fabrication Facility proposal and the Shire of Exmouth’s rezoning proposal will be extended so that the findings of this environmental study can be fully considered.
The Shire of Exmouth proposes Amendment 1 to rezone part of lots 223, 234, 235 and 1586 Minilya-Exmouth Road, Learmonth from 'Rural' and 'Foreshore Reserve' to 'Special Use 10' to facilitate the development of a pipeline fabrication facility (Learmonth Pipeline Fabrication Facility). The scheme amendment is being assessed on aspects that relate to the proposed change in zoning of the land.
The public review process for the scheme amendment is managed by the Shire of Exmouth and the review period will run from 2 October 2019 until the 30 November 2019.
