Amendment 60 is an omnibus amendment that proposes numerous modifications to the scheme as an interim step to the preparation of a new local planning scheme. The amendment proposes to: introduce rezoning and scheme map modifications; introduce new land use permissibilities (including Service Stations and Renewable Energy Facility); introduce new development provisions; ensure consistency with the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 and the addition of supplemental provisions; and amend minor errors and omissions in the Scheme text and maps. The amendment includes transfer of part of the Murujuga National Park on the Burrup Peninsula (the Peninsula) and parts of the Dampier Archipelago Islands (the Islands) from ‘Public purposes – Telecommunications’ reserve, ‘Strategic Industry’, ‘Infrastructure’ and ‘No Zone’ to ‘Conservation, Recreation and Natural Landscapes’.
The amendment proposes to rezone Lot 9510 Murat Road, Exmouth from the:
•‘Special Use 7’ (SU7) to the ‘Urban Development’ zone,
•delete the SU7 from Schedule 4 – Special Use zones in the LPS 4 schemetext,
•delete reference to the site in Additional Use 8 – Additional Uses ,and
•amend Scheme Maps accordingly.
Introduce a General Industry, Strategic Infrastructure and Special Control area to facilitate the development of renewable energy facilities (introduced as an additional use) and workforce accommodation (Hyenergy proposal).
The purpose of this amendment is to rezone Lot 510 Willersdorf Road, Exmouth from the ‘Public Open Space’ reservation to the ‘Special Use 11 (SU11)’ zone and to amend Schedule 4 – Special Use Zones to include SU11 and relevant conditions.
Amendment 1 has been prepared to facilitate the implementation of new precinct structure plans (which are proposed to be concurrently advertised with the amendment) for: Chinatown/Old Broome and Cable Beach. The amendment proposes scheme text changes (including introduction of structure plan requirements and modifications to definitions in the scheme) and also proposes land use zoning and R-code changes within the Chinatown/Old Broome structure plan area.
The Town of Port Hedland proposes to reclassify and rezone various lots known as the ‘Stables Precinct’ to Urban Development.
Local Planning Scheme 7 (LPS 7) is proposed to replace the existing Town Planning Scheme 5 (TPS 5). LPS 7 includes changes to text, zoning and scheme provisions as compared to TPS 5. The new scheme proposes a number of changes including new zones, rezonings, text updates, scheme provision amendments, additional uses and the introduction of new and updating of existing Special Control Areas. The changes update the Scheme to align with the Planning and Development Regulations 2015.
The City of Greater Geraldton Town Planning Scheme No. 1A Amendment 4 – to rezone Lots 1945, 5843, 1268, 1358, 1, 1925, 2453, 4201, 6852, 708, 3, 4200, 4201, Victoria Location 11939, and the portion of Lot 2466 contained within TPS 1A from numerous local scheme reserves (‘Dune Preservation’, ‘Parks and Recreation’ and ‘Public Use’) and zones (‘Residential’, ‘Residential Development’, ‘Resort Development’, ‘Commercial’ and ‘General Farming’) to ‘Development’ zone.
The Town of Port Hedland proposes to rezone land generally bound by Styles Road (south), Pretty Pool Creek (north), Cooke Point Drive (west) and existing single residential housing in the Pretty Pool residential area (east) from "Rural", "Parks and Recreation" and "Other Public Purpose - Energy" to "Urban Development".
