The Midland Redevelopment Authority proposes to remediate 15.5 hectares of land referred to as the Clayton Precinct which comprises the eastern part of the Midland Railway Workshops site located immediately south of the Midland town centre in Midland. Mr John Maas (Bullsbrook Turf) proposes to expand the existing turf farm at Lot 8 Raphael Road, Bullsbrook from 12 hectares (ha) to 26 ha. The proposal is within the Ellen Brook catchment. The turf farm has two centre pivot irrigators (pivots 1 and 2) with a combined irrigated area of 26 ha. The proponent currently has 8 ha of turf under pivot 1 and 4 ha of turf under pivot 2.
