Export of woodchips from Eucalyptus globulus plantations

The proposal is to harvest and export approximately 163,000 tonnes of, Eucalyptus globulus, woodchips from private plantations over the next five years. A trial shipment of approximately 13,000 tonnes is planned for 1993 with exports rising to 70,000 tonnes per year by 1997. In the 1993 trial, logs will be obtained from nine plantation blocks and transported to WA Chip and Pulp's (WACAP) Diamond Chip Mill to be processed into paper pulp chips. Heavy Minerals Mine at Jangardup (s46)

The approved proposal is to mine and process an average of 271,000 tonnes of heavy mineral concentrate per year. The concentrate is then trucked from the mine to Bunbury via Black Point Road, Stewart Road and the Vasse and Bussell Highways. The approved trucking regime is for a maximum 56 truck trips per week day. Boddington gold mine - Extended basement operation and changes to existing environmental conditions

The initial proposal by Worsley to develop the Boddington Gold Mine approximately 12km north-west of the town of Boddington was the subject of an EPA evaluation in 1985 (EPA 1985). An Environmental Management Programme was prepared and submitted in 1987 and the mine was commissioned in July 1987. Hedges gold project, Boddington (s46)

The previously approved proposal is to mine and process up to 2 Mtpa of lateritic gold ore from the Hedges deposit, which is located in State Forest 4 km south of Mt Wells and 12 km north-west of Boddington. Ore is extracted through an open cut mining operation and is hauled 7 km to the carbon-in-leach treatment plant where the gold is recovered and the tailings deposited in a tailings dam. Horticultural development on 200 hectares of land - Sussex Location 4158 Governor Broome Road; Shire of Augusta-Margaret River

The proposal is to develop five 40ha centre pivot irrigation sites. The five centre pivot sites, in addition to an existing centre pivot site, will result in a total of six centre pivot sites on the property with a total area of 240ha. Bunbury Harbour and City development - Marlston Hill site (s46)

The proposal is to redevelop the Marlston Hill site north of the Bunbury CBD for residential purposes. The site has been used previously for industrial purposes including storage of petroleum products, railway workshops, a sewage treatment plant and grain storage facilities. Mining of titanium minerals, Yarloop

The proposal is to develop a titanium minerals mine on Mining Leases 70/49, 70/937 and 70/938 and to mine an ore body located on Reserve 31900 and private property within the Shire of Harvey. The ore body consists of two occurrences of heavy mineral concentrate separated by the Waterous Formation Creek, and adjacent to Black Rock Road. Read more...
