The proposal is to construct and maintain a 45 kilometre (km) coastal walk trail from Point Ann to Hamersley Inlet, through the Wilderness Management Zone of the Fitzgerald River National Park. Camping facilities such as sleeping huts, water collection facilities and toilets would be constructed at camping points along the walk trail. The Department of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia (DAFWA) proposes to erect a 660 kilometre long, 1.35 metre high extension to the existing State Barrier Fence from its current termination point near the town of Ravensthorpe to the east of Esperance near Cape Arid National Park. The Shire of Esperance propose to demolish the heritage listed Esperance Tanker Jetty as it has fallen into disrepair and no longer deemed economically viable for the Shire to maintain.
