Proposed Geraldton Port Expansion

Increased trade and associated shipping within the Port of Geraldton has created a demand for addional land adjacent to the harbour area. In response to this demand, the Port of Geraldton proposes to reclaim a 5 ha area in the existing fishing boat harbour, within the Inner Harbour. Proposed Synthetic Rutile Plant Expansion, Narngulu Industrial Estate, Geraldton

AMC Mineral Sands Ltd, the mineral sands division of Renison Goldfields Consolidated Limited, proposes to expand its synthetic rutile plant on the Narngulu Industrial Estate located 11 km south-east of Geraldton. After expansion, the synthetic rutile plant will occupy some 47 hectares of the 465 hectare Estate. The expansion will increase synthetic rutile production from 112,500 to 260,000 tonnes per annum. Roller No.1 Oil Exploration Permit TP/3 Part 1

The proposal is to drill an exploratory oil well at a site 6 km offshore from the mouth of the Ashburton River and 20 km west of Onslow. Drilling is expected to begin in December 1989 and will take about three weeks to complete. The proposed site lies within a Special Protection Locality in water about 10 m deep. Boddington Gold Mine Project - mining and processing of supergene/basement ores

The proposal is to mine and process ore from the supergene/basement deposits at the Boddington Goldmine. The supergene orebody is that zone of mineralisation which lies at the interface of the weathered oxide zone and the fresh basement rock. Eneabba West Mineral Sands Project

The proposal is to extend AMC Mineral Sands' existing heavy mineral sand mining operation. The proposed extension is 5 km west of the existing operation at Eneabba, which lies 250 km north of Perth. Queensland fruit fly eradication program

The proposal is for an intensive ten-month programme aimed at total eradication of the limited infestation of Queensland fruit fly in the Perth metropolitan area. The proposed eradication programme is based on baits formulated with either male only or combined male and female lures and containing between 1 and 2 g of the insecticide malathion, followed by a strategic release of sterile male fruit flies. Minora Resources NL has submitted a proposal to drill a third exploration oil well in its lease, EP 325, Exmouth Gulf. The well is located 13 km south east of the town of Exmouth. Proposed Sandy Point Seismic Survey Cape Range WA

Proposal to undertake a seismic survey in an area which partially overlaps the south-eastern corner of Cape Range National Park. The proposal involves 12.9 km of seismic survey in the National Park using the vibroseis technique. This would require some ground disturbance, primarily by walking a bulldozer along the survey lines with its blade raised in order to press the vegetation down rather than clearing it. Mineral sands dry processing plant, Muchea

In November 1987 the TiO 2 Corporation submitted to the Environmental Protection Authority an ERMP describing a proposal which included the establishment of a mineral sands dry separation plant at a site just north of Muchea on the Brand Highway.
