The proposal is to redevelop and upgrade the existing facilities at the Mandurah Marina, Lot 11, Old Coast Road, Mandurah. The site is 9.4 hectares in area and the current development consists of two basins and associated commercial areas. The proposal is for broad-scale use of bauxite residue as a soil amendment for existing agricultural and horticultural properties. The Department of Agriculture expects bauxite residue application rates to range from 20 to 100 tonnes per hectare (t/ha) for pasture and up to 250 t/ha for horticultural uses. Applications of over 100 t/ha would need to be mixed into the soil and gypsum addition considered to ensure the soil pH is suitable for agriculture. Read more...
