The proposal is the industrial subdivision of Lots 300-303 and 14 & 15 Beringarra Avenue, Malaga. The lots total an area of 11.6 hectares (ha). The proposal area is bounded by Victoria Road to the north, the proposed Hepburn Avenue extension to the east, Reid Highway to the south and an existing industrial estate to the west. This proposal is for the first of two stages of long-term shellsand dredging, involving the continuation of shellsand extraction from specific locations on Success Bank, Parmelia Bank and West Success Bank, Owen Anchorage. The proposal is to extend Roe Highway from South Street in Canning Vale to connect to Kwinana Freeway in Leeming over a distance of approximately 4.5 km. The proposal for the brick and tile works at Malaga was initially assessed by the EPA in 1987. In 1994 an amendment to the proposal was assessed. This amendment related to the subdivision of part of the brickworks site and did not alter the operation of the brickworks in any way. Since 1987 more has become known about brickwork emissions.
