The proposal is to expand existing wharf facilities to increase storage capacity and improve the efficiency of Dampier's port in general. The expansion involves the construction of a land-backed wharf, 300m jetty, lay down areas, access road and associated infrastructure. The proposal is to expand the Dampier port facilities including: the improvement and extension of the current Dampier Cargo Wharf; the construction of a new jetty and associated shipping infrastructure; and the dredging, loading and disposal of up to 4.5 million cubic metres (m 3 ) of sediments to the Northern Spoil Ground and East Lewis Island Spoil Ground from the deepening of the harbour area and the associated approach channel.
