This proposal is to mine approximately 24 million tonnes of diamond-bearing gravels from about 410 hectares of braided river channels within a total operations area of 550ha. The proposal is for the mining and processing of approximately 12 million tonnes of alluvial gravels extending for a distance of 2.5km downstream beyond current mining operations in Smoke Creek. The company proposes to begin mining later in 1991 and the programme is expected to take five years to complete.
