The Minister for the Environment has requested that the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) review the revised Motorplex Noise Management Plan (NMP) prepared by the Western Australian Sports Centre Trust (WASCT) and provide advice under Section 46(1) of the, Environmental Protection Act 1986, (EP Act) on possible changes to the Environmental Conditions relating to noise management. The proposal is for a marina for Mangles Bay. The marina would be built between the Garden Island Causeway and Hymus Street at the southern end of Cockburn Sound. The marina would have an ultimate capacity of 500 pens and cater for boats up to 20 metres in length. Inquiry under section 46 of the, Envrionmental Protection Act 1986, regarding Environmental Conditions 7-1, 8-1, and 8-2 of Ministerial Statement 531 issued by the Minister on 17 December 1999 setting out that the Kwinana International Motorplex proposal may be implemented.
