The Environmental Protection Authority will today tour Mangles Bay as part of its assessment of the proposed marina-based tourism precinct.
EPA Chairman Paul Vogel said the site visit was an opportunity to see the area first-hand as part of the EPA’s Public Environmental Review into the Cedar Woods proposal.
“The Mangles Bay Marina proposal has garnered a lot of interest from the local community,” Dr Vogel said.
“This site visit will allow the EPA to observe the environmental factors that may be impacted if the proposal proceeds such as visiting listed threatened ecological communities and Lake Richmond.”
The EPA members will be joined by Cockburn Sound Management Council Chair Professor Kateryna Longley as they also tour Cockburn Sound to study sea grass rehabilitation.
