The purpose of this Interim Guidance is to assist decision-making authorities (DMA), proponents and the public in understanding the matters the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) may consider when taking into account other statutory decision-making processes that can mitigate the potential environmental impacts of a proposal. This Interim Guidance has been developed following amendments to the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (the EP Act) in 2020. The Guidance is provided as “interim” while the EPA is working with DMAs to develop agreed standard processes for when and how other DMA processes may be taken into account. Any agreed standard processes will be made publicly available.
