Strict conditions governing the construction of a new outer harbour development in Port Hedland have been recommended by the Environmental Protection Authority.
EPA Chairman Paul Vogel said the recommended approval of BHP Billiton Iron Ore’s outer harbour development, which includes rail and ore stockpile facilities as well as a four kilometre jetty offshore of Finucane Island, could be implemented with rigorous conditions to limit environmental impacts.

The Environmental Protection Authority will visit Broome this month to meet with community members about the proposed Browse Liquefied Natural Gas Precinct at James Price Point.
EPA Chairman Paul Vogel said the proposal would be discussed with representatives from a cross-section of the community, including the Shire of Broome, the Kimberley Land Council, Goolarabooloo and Goolarabooloo Jabirr Jabirr Traditional Owners, Environs Kimberley and the Save the Kimberley group.
