Proposal description: 

The Proposal occurs approximately 20 kilometres north of Karratha within an existing industrial area designated as a service corridor within the Burrup Strategic Industrial Area of the Burrup Peninsula. The Project involves the construction of a 550 meter pipeline and associated supporting infrastructure to transport a maximum of 150 TJ of natural gas per day from the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline to the proposed Perdaman Urea Plant development.

The key components of the Proposal include:

  • Lateral pipeline
  • Inlet station
  • Meter station
  • Material laydown/storage areas
  • Rock causeway.

Following construction, the pipeline trench will be backfilled and restored to a pre-construction state.

The Proposal’s 2.05-hectare (ha) development footprint consists of:

  • 0.21 ha of native vegetation
  • 1.22 ha of mudflat with no vegetation
  • 0.62 ha of existing rock causeway and the Burrup Fertilisers Lateral (Pipeline Licence 62).

Construction and operational scope 1 Greenhouse Gas emissions are estimated to be 1,362 and 8 tonnes of CO2-e per annum, respectively.
