Proposal description: 

Synergy Renewable Energy Developments Pty Ltd proposes to develop a wind farm approximately 35 kilometres north-east of Hyden townsite in the Western Australian Wheatbelt.

The proposal consists of up to 30 wind turbines generating up to 150 MW, electrical substations and switchyards. The turbines will be installed on towers up to 150 m tall with blades up to 90 m long for a total height of up to 240 m. All turbines are proposed to be located at least 100 m from remnant vegetation.

The proposal includes several ancillary features, including associated electricity transformers, underground cabling, access roads, crane hardstands, a substation compound, site office and workshop, and communication masts, connection to the Western Power network via the 132 kV Kondinin to Bounty line, and wind monitoring masts.

The proposal has a development envelope of 3,121 ha, located on predominantly cleared freehold land used for farming and adjacent road reserves. Clearing of no more than 4 ha of native vegetation is proposed.
