Smiths Beach Project, Yallingup – Coastal Tourism Village

Proposal description: 

Smiths 2014 Pty Ltd proposes to develop Lot 4131 Smiths Beach Road, Yallingup (City of Busselton) into a coastal tourism village, including: 

  • Hotel accommodation and wellness centre 
  • Campground 
  • 61 holiday homes 
  • Community hub, café, bakery and general store
  • Cape to Cape welcome centre
  • Surf Lifesaving Club facilities

The proposal is located at the southern end of Smiths Beach, adjacent to the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park. 

The total proposed development envelope is 41.79 hectares (ha). The major elements of the proposal include: 

  • Clearing of 9.43 ha of native vegetation and fauna habitat
  • Modification of 10.47 ha of native vegetation and fauna habitat
  • 16.83 ha is proposed to be retained as conservation, with 15.4 ha proposed to be placed into the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park
  • 2.43 ha is proposed to be Public Open Space
