Woodside Energy Ltd has submitted an application under s.43A of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 to change the Proposed Browse to NWS Development proposal during the EPA’s assessment.

The proposed amendment includes a reduction in development envelope size to no longer overlap the Scott Reef shallow water benthic habitats or Sandy Islet, modifications to remove or relocate drilling units to avoid green turtle habitats, and the adoption of technology to minimise the risk of a loss-of-well control event.

The EPA determined that the proponent’s amendment documentation should be subject to a four-week public review period. The public review period commenced 12 May 2025 and concluded 10 June 2025. The proponent’s response to submissions is provided under ‘3. Assessment > Environmental Review’.
