The proposal is to construct and operate two iron ore mines, haul roads and mine infrastructure in the Yilgarn area of Western Australia, 100 kilometres north of Southern Cross. The EPA set the level of assessment on the Jackson 5 and Bungalbin East Iron Ore Project by Polaris Metals Pty Ltd, as an Assessment on Proponent Information, category B (environmentally unacceptable).
Following the appeal period and the Ministers subsequent determination on the Appeals received, the Minister remitted the proposal back to the EPA for assessment at the level of Public Environmental Review (8 weeks). Access the original referral and scoping information here.
