Three Mile Hill Gold Project (s46)

Project
Proponent:
Goldfan Limited
Proposal description:

Goldfan Limited submitted a Notice of Intent for the Three Mile Hill Gold Project to the Environmental Protection Authority in May 1989. Following assessment of the Notice of Intent by the Environmental Protection Authority, the Minister for the Environment issued environmental approval, including conditions, on 28 August 1989 (Ministerial Statement 75).

This is an inquiry under s46 regarding a request to amend the Statement to enable modification of the gold treatment facility to be able to treat 1.1 million tonnes of gold ore per annum, in comparison to the approved level of 800,000 tonnes per annum. The additional water to treat the increased throughput will come from the dewatering operation at the nearby Bayley's underground gold mine.
