The Intractable Waste Disposal Facility is located at Mt Walton East, 125 kilometres north-west of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. The proposal involves the disposal by shaft entombment or burial of a range of intractable wastes included in the list of potential wastes for disposal at the facility.

This inquiry under s46 is in regard to a request for an extension of time limit of approval and inclusion of alternative destruction technologies, relating to Ministerial Statement 353.
