The Western Green Energy Hub is a proposal to design, construct and operate a large-scale wind and solar power project to produce value added products, with the base case assuming green ammonia production.

The proposal is situated on WA Mirning Native Title determined land in the far southeast of Western Australia in the Shire of Dundas and City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder, to the northwest of Eucla in the South Coast Region.

The proposal will be located on Unallocated Crown Land and pastoral leases. The onshore components of the proposal will comprise a series of wind turbines and solar farms, with centrally-sited hydrogen electrolysers, data centres as well as electrical infrastructure, pumping and cooling systems. Other components of the proposal will include a green ammonia (or other vector) production facility, workshops and fabrication facilities and worker villages, as well as an infrastructure corridor to the coast. The coastal and offshore components comprise a marine offloading facility, desalination plant, brine pipeline and an ammonia (or other vector) export pipeline, set within State Waters only.

The proposal is located within a 2,269,015 ha development envelope and involves clearing of up to 27,188 ha and up to 77,206 ha partial clearing (infrastructure installed over open vegetation).
