The proposal is for an iron ore mining operation at Marandoo, 35 kilometres east-north-east of the town of Tom Price, in an enclave within Karijini National Park, and a railway line from the existing Paraburdoo-Dampier railway line, to service Marandoo. The rail line would then continue past Marandoo to connect with proposed future mines in the Central Pilbara.
