Mangles Bay marina [247]

Project
Proponent:
Department of Marine and Harbours
Proposal description:

The proposal is for a marina for Mangles Bay. The marina would be built between the Garden Island Causeway and Hymus Street at the southern end of Cockburn Sound.

The marina would have an ultimate capacity of 500 pens and cater for boats up to 20 metres in length. Three options were put forward because of the acknowledged concerns about the potential loss of seagrass in Mangles Bay specifically, and Cockburn Sound in general.

Note: This project was suspended on 6 August 2003.
