Amendment 42 proposes to insert a new land-use class, ‘Renewable Energy Facility’ and corresponding land-use permissibility in the Zoning Table (Table 1), and insert a new definition of ‘Renewable Energy Facility’ within Schedule 1 – Interpretations.
The Shire of Waroona is proposing Amendment 43 to revise the scheme text relating to indigenous vegetation and clearing restrictions. The amendment will introduce changes to the scheme text to protect all vegetation within the Shire, not just indigenous vegetation, and will amend/delete certain parts of the scheme text and add a qualifying clause to a number of Rural and Urban zones.
Amendment 2 proposes to rezone Lot 26 (No. 12) from Residential ‘R15’ to Residential ‘R40’, and to amend the scheme map accordingly.
The amendment will reclassify 15.69 ha from a ‘Parks and Recreation’ reservation to a ‘Public Purposes – Special Uses’ reservation and 1.72 ha to a ‘Urban’ zone to facilitate the development of a television studio screen production facility and provide for the widening of Marshall Road and align with the abutting zoning.
The amendment proposes to introduce provisions to provide for an unrestricted length of stay for a chalet on strata lots 6-13 and 48-51.
The amendment is an omnibus amendment that involves text and mapping changes to the scheme to correct minor anomalies and inconsistencies.
The amendment proposes to:
(a) transfer approximately 2.61 hectares of land within Lots 801, 901, 902 and 905 Reid Highway and Lot 801 Bennett Springs Drive, Bennett Springs from the Railways reservation to the Urban zone
(b) transfer approximately 8,500 square metres of land within Lots 801 and 906 Reid Highway and part of the Reid Highway Road reserve, Bennett Springs from the Primary Regional Roads reservation to the Urban zone.
The amendment has an overall area of approximately 3.46 hectares.
The amendment proposes to rezone Lot 285 (No. 31) and Lot 315 (No.59) Welman Road, from Residential R20 to Residential R40 to enable the Shire to build staff accommodation.
Amendment 20 proposes to rezone 39 and 39A Keane Street, Kewdale from ‘Residential R20’ to ‘Place of Public Assembly; and amend the Scheme Map accordingly.
The purpose of the amendment is to reclassify the former Challenger Tafe in Beaconsfield from a ‘Public Purposes – Technical School’ reservation zone to a ‘Urban’ zone under the Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS) to facilitate future residential and mixed-use development. The site has been historically cleared, with the former building having since been demolished.
