Local Planning Scheme (LPS) 18 represents an administrative update to the City of Swan’s existing LPS 17, to ensure consistency with the requirements of the Model Provisions at Schedule 1 of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Schemes) Regulations 2015 (the Regulations), the City’s Local Planning Strategy, and relevant state planning legislation and policies.
The Western Australian Planning Commission proposes to rezone approximately 178 hectares
of land in Maida Vale from the Rural zone to the Urban Deferred zone in order to facilitate
future residential development.
The amendment proposes to transfer land within Brabham and Dayton from ‘Parks and Recreation’ reservation to the ‘Urban’ zone, ‘Public Purposes – Special Uses’ to the ‘Urban’ zone, and ‘Primary Regional Roads’ to the ‘Urban Deferred’ zone.
Amendment 1 has been prepared to facilitate the implementation of new precinct structure plans (which are proposed to be concurrently advertised with the amendment) for: Chinatown/Old Broome and Cable Beach. The amendment proposes scheme text changes (including introduction of structure plan requirements and modifications to definitions in the scheme) and also proposes land use zoning and R-code changes within the Chinatown/Old Broome structure plan area.
The amendment proposes to rezone various lots along Helena Valley Road and Midland Road from the ‘Rural’ zone to the ‘Urban’ and ‘Urban Deferred’ zone, ‘Parks and Recreation’ zone, and ‘Primary Regional Roads’ reservation. The scheme map is to be amended accordingly.
Amendment 216 aims to rationalise the Drovers Place Precinct Agreed Local Structure Plan No. 80 by transferring the zones and reserves of the structure plan into the City of Wanneroo District Planning Scheme 2.
Amendment 205 aims to rationalise the East Wanneroo Cell 6 (Darch and Madeley) Agreed Local Structure Plan No.8 (ASP8) by transferring the zones and reserves of the structure plans into the City of Wanneroo District Planning Scheme 2.
The amendment proposes to transfer 45.79 hectares (ha) of land at the above location from the ‘Rural’ zone and ‘Railways’ reserve, to the ‘Urban’ zone and ‘Railways’ and ‘Parks and Recreation’ reserves. The amendment is to facilitate the development of the Karnup station precinct.
The amendment proposes to change the permissibility of a ‘Grouped Dwelling’ in a ‘Rural’ zone from an ‘X’ use to a ‘D’ (discretionary) use in the Zoning Table (Table 1).
The City of Gosnells has initiated Amendments 166 to zone land from General Rural to Business
Development. The Amendment areas is known as Precinct 3B within the Maddington Kenwick Strategic
Employment Area.
